Red Wings prospects fall to Blackhawks 5-0

Traverse City (WPBN / WGTU) – While some of the biggest stars of hockey in Toronto for the World Hockey Championship, many of the sports stars of the future are here in Traverse City for the Red Wings Prospects tournament.

Tournament 8 team began Friday and continues until Tuesday. After winning the first game on Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-4, the Red Wings took the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday in front of a packed crowd in the center of the ice arena in Traverse City.

Blackhawks struck first when Alexander Fortin Chicago found the back of the net past goalkeeper Red Wings Jake Paterson. Fortin also Blackhawks net the second goal on a loose puck in front of the net, extending the Blackhawks lead they never surrendered.

The Red Wings had not found the net in the competition, giving the brand goalie Brent Moran shutout and the rest of the Blackhawks a 5-0 victory.

You can catch the Wings back in the ice arena on Monday, as they take on the St. Louis Blues. 7:00 pm puck drop
